I don’t see

Painting Lampedusa series
size 100x120x3,5 cm year 2022

LAMPEDUSA

During 2022 I was on the island of Lampedusa, where the need for research and inner listening led me.

There I decided to create a new series of paintings.

I collected photographic material, reflections of the sea and human subjects, especially children.

I decided to combine different perspectives of these images and work with the projector and prints to study and paint them.

This series chronicles the emotions of the “inner child,” the one he has experienced, faces, and continues to awaken throughout his life through relationships.

A journey of emotions and states of mind.

Each painting arises from a moment of recollection, a down, an emptiness, an inner black hole, and then is reborn on canvas in the way you see it here.

The passage on the canvas of these emotions brings back a personal sublimation and transformation.

Art has led me to reprocess my wounds and memories, a bridge between the unconscious and the conscious.

I don’t see

“I don’t See” is part of the Lampedusa series.

During 2022 I was on the island of Lampedusa, where the need for soul-searching and listening brought me there.

Art has led me to reprocess my wounds and memories-a bridge between the unconscious and the conscious.

“I don’t See” wants to talk about the difficulty of wanting to see, of feeling emotions. Emotions that scare us, that create pain.
Emotions that created wounds for us as children, shattered expectations.
Emotions taken and put into a deep part of us.
That part still represents us today. This part can sometimes come in and create and make us feel states of mind that disorient us, make us afraid, make us run away, react or immobilize.

These emotions that we run away from because we are hurt still affect us today.

But this expectation and conditioning, through listening to such emotions, such memories, such wounds lead us to a new awareness of knowledge, a new state, an inner and outer transformation.
