Why did you choose the name Ravi Alisha?
This name represents my artistic side.
It was a choice to mark my rebirth, my new life, my true self.
For years I repressed what I was I adapted to others, to society by giving up myself, the ‘artist, art, my way of expressing myself.
One day I asked myself:
” Are you happy?
If you turned around tomorrow and looked at your life would you see a happy person?”
And there I chose, I was reborn I took the artist in me and said now we can be who we are.
I chose to take colors and paint, opened my doors, made my being visible to everyone:
Masks off, it’s time to be happy.
Ravi Alisha means ” Sun protected by God.”
And that’s what I feel.
Why modern and abstract art?
Let’s start by saying that art for me is a journey in the making.
Everyone has their own identity; perhaps it is more accurate to say that it is the art and the historical period that choose you.
So modern and abstract art because this is my period.
How did you start painting abstract art?
I started painting because I wanted to scream, and the colors were my words.
There began my inner journey through ‘art.
First category of modern art body action painting action, emotions take and throw colors.
Second category of works of modern and abstract art spirit represents the flow or flows, the soul, the ‘energy within us.
Third category of modern art mind Geometric abstractionism, symbols, lines.
The discovery of the three categories occurred as listed through an evolving path.
Beatrice Sperindè represents my logical part, Ravi Alisha the ‘contemporary painter artist, the creative part, all united in the journey of life.
What is art to you?
Abstract modern art is my way of life, my being, who I am. It is my inner and outer journey that step by step brings me to a knowledge.
Art is a quest, it is introspection, it is listening, it is a way of life.
